With days to go, attention has shifted to Kololo as the Tusker Lite Neon Run takes place this Friday, May 8, at Circuit Lounge, promising a mix of fitness and entertainment. The event starts at 6:30pm.

The event returns to Uganda’s social calendar under the theme “Ignite the Lite.” After weeks of preparation, organisers said they are ready to deliver a smooth and exciting experience.

The run will feature 5km and 10km races. Julius Nkuraija, an experienced route designer and race director, oversaw course planning, safety measures, and race coordination.

“I understand the difference between morning/daytime races and night runs. So, some things have to be put into consideration when planning the route map to ensure participants move smoothly and safely through the course. The route is safe and ideal for the run, so runners should come ready to enjoy the experience,” he said.

Unlike previous Tusker Lite runs, which focused on performance, the Neon Run blends recreation and wellness with music, neon lights, and entertainment along the route. Organisers said the event aims to create a lively social atmosphere where participants can enjoy the run at their own pace.

Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said the new format shifts the Neon Run from a purely performance-driven race into a lifestyle experience.

“Tusker Lite Neon Run is designed to give people a different way to experience fitness in a relaxed, social environment. It is about enjoying the run at your own pace while being part of a lively atmosphere with music, lights, and great company. We are encouraging everyone to sign up and grab their slot while it still lasts,” she said.

She added that the night run aligns with the brand’s aim of celebrating people who live boldly, pursue their passions, and balance enjoyment with responsibility.

The event will feature live music mixes from DJ KasBaby and DJ Bugy.
