This comes days after Tanzania President Dr. John Pombe Magufuli appointed the 2006 Miss Temeke winner to the powerful government position.

The actress who was the Youth League leader of Magufuli’s party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) before her recent appointment was sworn in by Coast Regional Head, Evarist Nikilo.

Jokate was first runners up in the Miss Tanzania beauty contest.

She was also named Redds fashion ambassador and Citizen Newspaper ambassador, after receiving the most votes that year. Before Miss Tanzania, she competed in Miss Kurasini 2006, which she also took the crown.
