The singer was lost of words, as he was surrounded by a big procession of fans on his way back from Makerere Kavule, where he had just been welcomed back into the struggle by the NUP principal himself.

I don't have any words… maybe I need to settle down first,” he remarked, on top of his car as he waved to scores of supporters who lined the road and chanted his name.

Moments earlier at the official launch of the opposition NUP offices on Bombo Road, Bobi Wine gave a shout-out to Big Eye for coming to the event.

Bobi Wine was making a point about the need for NUP members to be ready to welcome all people, even those they hitherto considered enemies.

Any person who is fighting the forces of change is the enemy number one. But if a person ever sees the light, you must welcome them with two open hands,” said Bobi Wine.

“My brother Big Eye, I welcome you; this is our country, we are a young population and we can do so much,” he said.

At this point, the crowd exploded into celebration as Big Eye made his way to the stage to shake hands with the principal.

Bobi Wine then proceeded to replace a black beret on the singer’s head, with a red one of the NUP, amid wild ululations.

The gesture was interpreted as a sign that the Ghetto president had finally made amends with the artist who actively fought him in the 2021 elections.

Big Eye aggressively campaigned for the ruling NRM party throughout the election, performing at most of their rallies and using his social media platforms to project the party’s messages.

He would later regret this move, however, shortly after the election as his fan base turned against him.

Suddenly, he could no longer perform at any music show as he was often chased from the stage with bottles.

Finally, he gave in months ago, announcing that he was cutting ties with the ruling party. 

His announcement was positively received by most of his fans as he would later attest in September that

He now hopes that yesterday's seal of approval from Bobi Wine will complete his full redemption and mark his return to the music scene.
