The self-styled singer better known as Afande Lanek dropped the video on July 10th.
Lanek, who also calls himself president of the Ugandan gospel artists, dropped the visuals of the unique song yesterday, July 10.
The audio of the upbeat song produced by Brian Beats came out early this year.
True to his nature as a mettlesome outspoken artist, Lanek in the new song explores the phenomenon of “speaking in tongues,” a not so touchy-feely topic that is often avoided in modern Christian conversation.
Lanek says the song is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
“As you know, we the born again Christians do speak in tongues. From the Acts of the Apostles when Jesus was leaving, he promised to leave us with a helper, and that is the Holy Spirit,” he said.
The new song, he hopes, will arouse debate on the topic and also encourage the Christians to come out more to support gospel artists.
“As the President of the gospel artists, I tell you, it is not easy to make this music. From production to making videos to promotion, everything needs money. So I wanted to use this to make a clarion call to our pastors and Christains to always come out and attend our shows and to support our music,” he said.
Lanek says he wrote Kanyime Munimi himself, while the video is by Grace D of 24 Safe Media
