Frank Gashumba shows Pia Pounds how it’s done in dance session
Pia Pounds, real name Tracy Kirabo, is currently pushing her new single ‘Wanting Me’ through social media dance challenges.
“I bumped into @frankmgashumba at my dance session and he passionately jumped on the wanting me challenge,” she posted on Saturday, May 6th.
In the 50 second clip, Gashumba throws several galances at Pounds as he labours to keep up with the steps. And from the feeble hip-thrusts to the back kicks and imaginary hula-hoops, it’s pure comedy, but a good shot overall, for a 45 year old.
Although he’s no Michael Ross or Chris Brown, Gashumba has never shied away from showing us what he's got in dance moves.
Weeks ago on April 19th he took to the stage with Spice Diana who was performing her hit single Siri Regular during the Rukundo Egumeho concert in Kabale district.
In Pia Pounds’ post, Gashumba was cheered on by several users, including his daughter Sheila, who wrote “Konnnaaaa”
Pounds, 26, is one of those feel-good stories we have in the Ugandan music industry; who from harrowing financial struggles was made good by her break-out banger, Tupaate, released in 2020 at the onset of the Covid19 pandemic.
In an interview on the Deep Talk show in April 2023, Pounds says before the pandemic, she used to hawk juice and clothes in an effort to make ends meet.
The song was such a big success that it got her her first car.
