The fire outbreak raged and roared across parts of Entebbe International Airport while threatening to turn into an inferno until it was managed and put out.

In its wake, however, anxiety has to spread over passengers with respect to their further lack of safety as well as any potential delayed flights/arrivals.

This is not the first outbreak this year.

On May 18th this year, a fire broke out at the two jet fuel tanks at Entebbe International Airport. The incident happened after 4 pm, on a Tuesday.

Fred Bamwesige, the Acting Director-General Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), said then that the safety, security team and firefighters were dispatched to stop the fire from spreading to other fuel tankers.

According to our sources, today’s fire was well away from the jet fuel tanks which are found less than 50 meters from the passenger terminal and at least 60 meters from the airside.
