Don Julio adds a touch of luxury to the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon Neon Rave

When the runners crossed the finish line and the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon came to an end, the night was only getting started.

The marathon’s Neon Rave brought runners, friends, as well as Kampala and Kasese’s social crowd together for an after-party rave that was filled with music.

Top artistes, including Cindy, aka the King Herself, and Pallaso, among others, gave the humongous crowd performances that will stick in their minds for some time.

In the VVIP section, things were a bit different. Guests enjoyed the Premier League matches on a giant LED screen from the comfort of comfy lounge seats.

In the left-hand corner, down the marquee, guests were treated to whisky lessons by the UBL advocacy team, which carefully took small groups of people through the ingredients of different whiskies, their craftsmanship and history.

But there was another spectacle that seemed to capture many people’s attention throughout the night: the dramatic bottle serves of Don Julio 1942.

It was evident that Don Julio had brought its signature touch of luxury to the night. The 1942 bottles made their way to the tables with the theatrical flair for which the tequila brand has become known.

Each delivery became a moment of its own. Each bottle was carried above the head like some sort of trophy. As the servers made their way through the audience, guests raised their glasses and cheered loudly.

The bottle serves kept growing as the night progressed. It was evident that some guests had fallen in love with the tequila.

Judie Nandekya, the senior brand manager for tequila and rum in East Africa, said she was glad that Don Julio was able to add a touch of luxury to the Neon Rave.

“The Neon Rave provided the perfect setting for guests to enjoy, and Don Julio added a luxury touch to this year’s Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon,” she said.

As the music raved on and the crowd settled into the night, the VIP section became one of the rave’s standout spots, with Don Julio bottles taking centre stage as people engaged in conversations while others vibed to the action from the stage.

The party went on until the wee hours of Sunday morning, turning Kasese town into one of the most fun places in Uganda for the weekend.
