After successfully graduating from university last week, the singer is concerned that his fans have started attacking fellow musicians who have less academic credentials.

I am now worried about this coming war of books; I don’t think I can handle it,” Chameleone told fans at a graduation after-party event yesterday, Monday night.

I just want to be referred to as a person who got a little more education and that’s it. Don’t start commenting about other people who don’t have degrees... that is none of my business."

Chameleone told the fans that he decided to go back to school because he “didn’t want to die illiterate.”

So, my friends the journalists, I beg you; don't involve me in those battles. I did not go to school to brag about it. I just did this for myself, just like you go home and read your bible.

At the afterparty which was attended by dozens of friends and reporters, the Leone Island boss also dispelled reports that he went back to school in order to secure a government job.

“I had some of you saying that I am studying because I want to be appointed ambassador. Where are you getting all this? Why won’t you let me be?” he said.

Chameleone, born Joseph Mayanja, was on Thursday last week awarded a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Cavendish University.
