A footage went viral on social media showing the musician grabbing the microphone the government chief whip before being escorted off stage.

He has apologised to Nankabirwa, often described as Museveni's closest government official, saying he didn't intend to disrespect and demean her.

"What happened is, we didn't have this communicated. As an artiste, they didn't communicate to me that there was another honourable in the building.

"Even with Bobi Wine's issue,  I saw him in the crowd and I called him on stage as an artiste. I didn't call him for any political reasons. If you remember clearly, I said everyone with red berets to remove them.

"For Nankanbirwa, I pass my apologies because there was total miscommunication. Organisers of the event didn't tell me there was an honourable who was going to give a speech.

"She came at a time when my adrenaline was so high...she came at a time when my show was rising...I'm sorry for what transpired. I didn't do anything for any political intentions."
