Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo claims that Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is faking disability.
The 36-year-old legislator was allegedly tortured after his brutal arrest in the northern town of Arua on August 13th.
He was seen using crutches for support during his court appearances -- he was also seen at the airport in a wheelchair shortly before leaving the country for treatment.
Faking disability
In a televised interview, Opondo claims that the Kyadondo East lawmaker is "feigning disability".
The government spokesperson maintains that the musician-turned-lawmaker has no physical wound and broken limbs.
He is wearing shoes 2kgs each
Opondo reiterates that Bobi Wine can't claim he can't walk yet he was seen wearing huge shoes each 2KGs
"Bobi Wine was involved in a fracas and could have been injured but that doesn't definitively suppose that he was tortured," he said.
What are the doctors saying?
A "fitness for travel report" from Lubaga Hospital where Bobi Wine was hospitalised for two days shows that he sustained multiple assault injuries on his body.
The report confirms that the lawmaker has no fractures to his backbone -- but needs a wheelchair to move because of pain the lower back.
