Tortured and ill musician-turned-lawmaker Bobi Wine has been re-arrested from Entebbe International Airport by security operatives.
One of his lawyers, Nicholas Opiyo has tweeted that the "police have violently abducted Bobi Wine from the airport".
He adds that he was "forced into a police ambulance and is being driven to unknown destination".
Reports indicate that MPs Bobi Wine and Francis Zaake have been taken to Kiruddu government hospital.
The duo was expected to travel abroad for specialised treatment for the injuries they sustained during their brutal arrest on August 13th in the northern town of Arua.
Wine is facing treason charges and was granted bail on Monday at the Gulu Magistrate Court.
What is the government saying?
Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo has tweeted saying the two legislators will be allowed to seek specialised medical abroad under one condition.
He writes that they "will be allowed to proceed for further treatment abroad after government doctors have examined them to ascertain their medical conditions".
What Bobi Wine's wife knows?
Barbie Kyagulanyi says her husband was manhandled by security operatives and whisked away to an unknown destination from Entebbe International Airport.
"He groaned in pain as he called my name to save him from being taken by his torturers. They forced him into an ambulance," Soft Power quotes Barbie Kyagulanyi.
