Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has released a list of harmful products in the country that people should avoid.

The products failed the compliance tests after a laboratory analysis of 249 samples selected during a market inspection in July.

The report shows that cosmetics registered the highest failure rate of 100% because most of them have hydroquinone -- a substance used in skin lightening and bleaching which was banned by the government in 2017 because of its effect on human health.

UNBS Executive Director has urged the public to shun these products barely two months after substandard products worth UGX3.5bn were destroyed.

Here are the products you should avoid on the market.
