Speaking at the kuhingira ceremony of his niece and Andile Ramaphosa, son to South Africa's president -- Mbabazi said he was "a bit suspicious" but when he gets an opportunity, he will ask Museveni about it.

The former PM announced that he will ask the 73-year-old president "if you voted for me during 2016 presidential elections" where he garnered 1.39% of the total votes.

He challenged the outcome of the election and petitioned the Supreme Court seeking the nullification of Museveni’s election on 28 grounds, including non-compliance with the law, vote stealing and intimidation of voters and agents by security forces.

Museveni was among the chief guests at the kuhingira ceremony which was graced by other top heads -- including South Africa's president Cyril Ramaphosa.

Mbabazi thanked his former boss for accepting to be part of the ceremony.

"I thank you for accepting our to attend Kuhingira and it demonstrates the leadership Africa requires," he said.
