Ugandan politician and businessman Mike Mukula took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his grief. “I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of my Friend Kayima Wavamuno (RIP) of Spear Motors Ltd while in Thailand with his family in a bathtub fall,” Mukula wrote.

He extended his condolences to Professor Gordon Wavamuno, Kayima’s father, and to the entire Wavamuno family, including Elvis Wavamuno and friends associated with Spear Motors.

Kayima's death has highlighted the dangers of accidents in bathrooms, which are often caused by slippery surfaces, poor lighting, and a lack of safety features. These incidents are unfortunately common, particularly among the elderly and vulnerable.

In Uganda, Joe Wavamuno Kayima was known for his role in managing parts of his father's extensive business empire, which includes Spear Motors, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Uganda. He was also known for taking care of his elderly father, who has been a prominent figure in the Ugandan business world for decades.
