Pineapple on an empty stomach is surprisingly a great idea

With an acidic high of 3-4 and taste, pineapples might seem and feel like they could give you stomach problems if you have them before a meal. That couldn't be further from reality. Pineapples are great for your digestion and healing your body from the inside. Here's why you shouldn't worry about having them before meals.

Pineapples are saturated by bromelain, a digestive enzyme which can be held responsible for the numerous health benefits that the fruit has to offer.

You don't want food to stand between you and this juicy fruit because bromelain has healing properties such as reducing swelling of the nose and sinuses after surgery or an injury, reducing joint pain, and easing symptoms of arthritis.

Pineapple has nutrients, essential antioxidants and numerous other healthy compounds like Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, fibre, potassium, folate, potassium, iron, riboflavin, manganese, copper and magnesium to name a few.

These can fight inflammation and reduce the onset of diseases by improving immunity, speeding up recovery after surgery and improving digestion.

Eating pineapple can detox the lungs. If you have been on a binge-drinking spree, pineapple is the fruit for you! The benefits of pineapple for the lungs can be especially helpful for athletes and fitness fans. It enables the lungs to work smoothly and helps in the expulsion of toxins.

Digestion of proteins and meats can be better if you include pineapple in your diet. Bromelain helps in breaking down protein into its building blocks, including amino acids. This in turn improves digestion and absorption of proteins.

The trick is to consume pineapples in the right quantity. Fruits, if eaten in abundance, may not be as beneficial or healthy for you.

Pineapples are best when eaten on an empty stomach. Prefer eating them during the earlier part of the day or during the afternoon. Do not eat pineapples after meals. You can probably eat them 30 minutes before your meal. "Fruits are best digested on an empty stomach," according to lifestyle coach Luke Coutinho.
