Song Review: Bend and Pause by KingZ and Karole Kasita

South African beat, Amapiano, may not leave Uganda standing. Almost all the big guns in the industry want to try them out, artists like Navio,Spice Diana,Azawi have done a song in this genre.

Kingz

Well, the recent one is Bend and Pause from Ugandan based Nigerian singer King Z, who has teamed up with dancehall sensation, Karole Kasita. The song is another replica of South African singer Focalistic.

Made by Wazzy Records, the sound is well mastered and the codes make it perfect. Karole Kasita just eats Pizza on them, those are her kind of things. King Z gives off that Nigerian accent that makes anyone fall for it. The fact that he is Uganda-based makes it a homemade thing and the netizens in Uganda may boast over it.

The video is lit. No wonder, it's an Aaronnaire made. Director Aaron is one of the most trending young directors. He has the capacity to tame the script. He has the best wide and aerial shots.

It is an exterior video with dance moves, either trying to replicate Eddy Kenzo's video concepts or Helicopter Entertainment boss, Tip Swizzy.

Aaron uses a semi-urban setting and shoots it during the day. That was a good move from him. We however expected more from Karole Kasita, being a dancer and we thought she would put that advantage to use. The costumes are good.

It is generally a 50/50 song. Let's wait and see how the netizens will welcome it.
