“It happens” - Spice Diana comforts Gabbie Ntaate

Spice Diana has extended a word of encouragement to gospel artist Gabbie Ntaate who has been in a negative light following her inaugural concert last weekend.

The "Cheza for Yesu” concert held at the Kampala Sheraton on Friday enlisted mixed reactions, with some observers calling it a flop.

Images of patches of empty seats at the expansive venue were shared widely online as the concert was underway.

Spice Diana, who attended the concert said such is normal in the music industry.

She encouraged Ntaate not to lose heart.

These things happen as you know,” she said.

When you do a show, it is for your people. The ones that come, those are your people. They are the ones that support you.”

Overall, however, Diana said the Cheza for Yesu concert was not as bad as it has been described it some circles.

I was there; I came at around 9 pm and stayed to the end. I was in the VIP section and looked around and there were people,” she said.

Ntaate was attacked mostly by online media journalists following the concert. Some accused her of turning down their interview requests. Others claimed the show was too expensive.

Events promoter Andrew Mukasa Bajjo said in a lengthy rant that the gospel singer had alienated herself from the “people of the world” who would have supported her.

You have ruined your career at this point…no one is going to want to work with you in the future,” Bajjo said.

Ntaate however, has been unfazed by the criticism.

Taking to TikTok on Monday, she shared a video from the concert showing people up on their feet dancing as she performed her big hit Cheza for Yesu.

She sarcastically captioned it “Nobody came…these are just floods of Noah
