I can never manage an artiste, that is extremely below my level- Gilbert Bukenya

Former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya has cultivated a reputation for being the politician with a penchant for hard partying.

Finding the ex-politician at one of Kampala's most coveted parties, festivals or concerts no longer comes as a surprise, as it has since become second nature.

Bukenya has expressed his love for merrymaking over the years by extending him self close to some of the country's most coveted artistes, especially the female ones.

His party-man reputation prompted a journalist from Urban Television to ask him if he would consider managing an artiste.

Bukenya however confessed that he cannot bear the slight thought of it as it would be a downgrade to his pedigree.

According to Bukenya, it would be utterly shameful for the former Vice President of the country to end up managing musicians.

"Oh no! That is too low," he exclaimed.

"By the time I can't even teach in medical school, I can't manage an artiste," he added.

According to Bukenya, despite his love for the arts, the most he can do for an artiste is sponsor them.

"The most I can do is sponsor them with my own money but I cannot manage an artiste. No, for heavens sake," he adds.

Nevertheless, despite the Professor's disdain for taking part in artiste management, he stills remains an active connoisseur of their output.
