Mega Dee announced yesterday, Tuesday, that he had accepted an offer from Next Media to join Sanyuka TV.
The singer, (real name Amos Kigenyi) met with Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa at the sidelines of the just concluded Uganda North America Association (UNAA) convention in Dallas, Texas.
After the meeting, he said, agreed to join the entertainment channel, but did not divulge more about the terms.
“I have accepted my new offer at NBS! Uncut Kalakata Tuja,” Mega Dee posted on social media.
In the post, he also tagged Isaac Kaiyz Kawalya who in July left the media house for the U.S. under unclear circumstances.
If the deal falls through as assured, Mega Dee will be hoping to help repair the image of Sanyuka TV which has lately come under attack from a section of viewers.
There has been in recent days a campaign championed by singer Alien Skin to cut the viewership of the Naguru-based station.
Skin accused some Sanyuka TV presenters of constantly maligning him on air.
As part of this campaign, some of his fans have gone as far as posting viral videos of themselves deleting the channel from their decoders in protest.
Mega Dee relocated to and has been living in the US with his family for years.
There, he even joined medical school and as of 2021, was working as a cardiovascular technician at a hospital in Los Angeles.
He is also very actively involved in politics and has used his social media platforms to share messages in support of Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform party.
