He was born in Uganda on 25 September 1993. Athen states that his stage name comes from Greece Capital Capital City “Athens” and Lyre was a melodic music instrument played by Greekians in the Capital city of Greece.
Mayombwe Patrick Wanny, better known by his stage name Athen Lyre (De Love Singer), is a Ugandan musician and songwriter.

Early life
Athen Lyre attended Alpha & Omega School for his nursery, then he proceeded to Shimoni Demostration School for his Primary School before joining Butanza College for his secondary school level.
Performing career

Athen Lyre started music as any normal church goer but he developed his talent more at school. He later went to studio in 2012 for his first school studio session to record the school choir songs of his secondary school.
Athen Lyre formed a strong musical relationship with Studio Producers, and the choir master Mr Kinene Jerry.
Projects
Athen has collaborated with various musicians including, Nox Guni (musician), from Zimbabwe,Daddy Andre & Victor Ruz, Pallaso among others. Athen has written songs for Pallaso ( Bikyani), Belindah Cury, He has recently released a single Love Contract and it’s doing absolutely well.
