Spice Diana responds to critics: Why should I hide my charity work?

In 2022, Diana collaborated with Jackie Chandiru, Shine Omukiga, Sandra Nansambu and Triggah to release a song titled Tekawo Enjawulo, loosely translated as Make a Difference.

Speaking to the press corps, the Simple Man singer wondered why critics expect her to donate in secret, yet most of her work, including singing, is done in front of the camera.

"Why should I do it in secret?" wondered Diana.

Diana, real name Hajara Namukwaya, has been involved in philanthropic activities for a while now.

At the start of 2023, she revealed she was constructing a home for special needs children. She even shared pictures of the project on social media.

The Siri Regular hitmaker noted that the facility, which is located in Mpigi, has 37 blocks with each having six units to shelter thousands of special children and their parents.

Her project is named Dina Special Children Foundation Uganda.

The song, which was produced with support from TAG Studios, Reach A Hand Uganda and Rose Charities is about raising awareness about sexual and gender-based violence and its effects on young Ugandan girls. It is laced with s actionable information.

The song, which was written by Jackie Chandiru, Allan Watikha, Bruce Dickson and Tony Kizito – was produced Melanin Boy, while the mixing and mastering was done by Samuel Lamara at TAG Studios. 

The visuals, which were released on November 29, were shot by Black Magic Filmz.

Spice Diana has also supported other charities and organised shows to donate to needy people.
