Mezo Noir, a high-end hangout in Kololo, has reopened about 10 days after it temporarily closed following the tragic death of 23-year-old Martha Ahumuza Murari.

On May 20, management posted a notice announcing the closure, which was later linked to Martha's death at the venue, though the cause remains unknown.

The facility’s social media stated that the closure was due to “unforeseen circumstances” and assured customers that the reopening date would be communicated later.

However, while the management has not officially announced the reopening, some patrons and influencers have shared that the venue is now open.

Martha, a recent graduate, was rushed to Kampala Hospital in critical condition, where she passed away from suspected poisoning, according to police reports.

Investigations are still ongoing into claims that her drink was spiked at Mezo Noir.

During a funeral service at All Saints Church in Kampala, details of her final moments were revealed.

Her brother, Bryan, shared that doctors informed him she had choked on vomit and suffered a brain hemorrhage.

Family friend Julie, who arrived at the hospital shortly after Bryan, was told that Martha was brain dead.

Her father, Seth Murari, who arrived later, was also informed of Martha’s condition and refused to accept the diagnosis, insisting on a second opinion.

He made the decision to keep her on life support until her mother, Barbra, could arrive from Dubai. Seth has vowed to pursue justice for his daughter.
