Renowned journalist and media personality Adam Kungu Al-Mahadi has opened up about his much-talked-about interview with opposition leader Bobi Wine on NBS TV. 

The live interview, which aired earlier this week, attracted massive public attention and sparked widespread debate online, not just for its content but also for the electrifying atmosphere that surrounded Bobi Wine's arrival at the Naguru-based television station.

Bobi Wine was welcomed personally by Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa before taking his seat for what would become one of the most memorable interviews of the year.

"The World Loves Him" – Kkungu Reflects

Speaking during his programme on Radio 4 the night after the interview, Kkungu shared a candid assessment of his experience with the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader. 

"Anybody who despises Hon Kyagulanyi does not know what you're talking about. That gentleman is powerful. The world adores him," he said.

While social media buzzed with claims that Kkungu appeared nervous and "star-struck", the journalist dismissed those assertions, stating that the show went according to plan. 

“Some of this is not true—the show went well,” he said. 

“The difference is that I saw the affection that people have for Kyagulanyi online and elsewhere, which is a good thing.”

He went on to describe Kyagulanyi as a "different breed of person" whose presence alone evokes admiration and emotional response from people from all walks of life. 

“This gentleman is loved. He is favoured,” Kkungu added.

A Professional Triumph Despite the Pressure

Kkungu, a seasoned broadcaster, defended his handling of the high-profile interview.

“I think I did a good job, and it was a good show. I was not shaking in the chair,” he clarified. “All I hoped to achieve from the interview, I achieved.
