Promoter Nobat Events has cancelled the concert he was organising for Omega 256, scheduled for May 3 at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

The exact reason for the cancellation remains unclear, but in audio clips, Nobat, whose real name is Nobert Twizire, is heard expressing frustration and threatening to make Omega 256 an example.

This event was meant to be Omega 256's debut concert.

However, Nobat is known for using stunts to promote his shows, leading many to remain sceptical about the situation.

In 2024, he promoted Ray G’s hugely successful concert on May 10 at the same venue.

Before the event, he threatened to cancel it and even suggested selling the venue to a church group planning a fellowship.

It’s worth noting that Omega 256’s concert was set for the same day as Truth 256’s show at University Inn in Mbarara.

Without creative marketing, one of these events may struggle to attract attention. Omega 256’s concert faces the challenge of drawing a large crowd, as her venue is much bigger.

Who is Omega 256?

Born Shamim Mulerwa on 27th September 1999 in Kakoba, Mbarara, to Juma Kamuhanda and Asiat Kayiraba, Omega 256’s interest in music sparked during her S.4 vacation.

She began visiting producer Drizzy’s studio, Sound Africa Records, in 2017, where she recorded a sample of Rema’s "Juice Wa Mango" and a cover of a Justin Bieber song. Drizzy then wrote her first song, "Otabula," which became her debut single.

Drizzy signed her as an artist, and she continued recording until the release of her song "Toora."

After falling out with her parents, Omega 256 moved in with Drizzy and lived there for a year while recording music. She was later introduced to Shine Omukiga and Shaba, who signed her to Shab Empire in 2018.

Her breakout track, "Ninterwa," followed. She left Shab Empire in 2019 and signed with Van Allan of More Fire Records, collaborating with producers like Nessim and Artin Pro.

When the COVID pandemic hit and Van Allan became involved in politics, Omega left the label and moved to Kampala in 2020.

In 2021, her current manager, Nash Weiz, reached out to her on Instagram. He runs Diagram Evolution, and their first project together, "Deep in Love," was followed by "Ndeera."
