Natasha Museveni Karugire, through her company Isaiah 60 Productions, is working with Hollywood producer and writer JoJo Ryder on a documentary highlighting various sectors of Uganda’s economy under President Yoweri Museveni's leadership.
The documentary features interviews with key figures, including Gen. Salim Saleh (Caleb Akandwanaho), the chief coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
OWC recently shared on X that the documentary will explore several important topics, including Digital Content Distribution Strategy, Power Relations in Agriculture, Reviving the Cooperative Sector, Food Security, Rural Industrial Centres, the Parish Development Model, and the impact of OWC on livelihoods and national development.
"An exciting documentary on #Musevenomics and #Musevinism is currently being produced by @Nyinancweende in collaboration with Ryder Media USA," read the OWC post. This project delves into Uganda’s socio-economic transformation and the themes shaping the country’s development.
The trailer for the documentary has already been released.
Ryder, who has worked on over 27 successful projects including Bad Girls Club and The Bachelor, continues to influence the film and TV industry.
Natasha Museveni began her film career with the biopic 27 Guns, which tells the story of the Bush War led by her father.
The film premiered on September 2, 2018, at Metroplex Cinema in Naalya, Kampala, with President Museveni, First Lady Janet Kataaha, and prominent figures from the liberation struggle, including the late Gen. Elly Tumwine and Gen. Jim Muhwezi, in attendance.
Natasha studied Fashion Design and Marketing at the American College in London and completed her A-Levels at Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga. After returning to Kampala in 1998, she launched the fashion brand House of Kaine (later rebranded as J&Kainembabazi).
She also curated a 16-track traditional music album titled Omufunga Eizooba through her organisation, the Heritage Foundation. In addition, she authored What’s in a Name: Kainembabazi, which reflects on how the liberation war shaped her family’s experiences.
Her latest project is Those From Among You, a documentary series tracing Uganda’s history from traditional societies to modern times.
