Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Zziwa found a hard time getting a job.

He recalls being too stubborn and rebellious that he couldn’t settle down at work.

After a brief stint abroad, he came back determined to venture into the beauty business where his passion was.

“Right from childhood this was what I always wanted to do. I was the child that was always styling my mother’s hair,” he said.

Zziwa launched his salon with five other stylists. Today, he’s employing over 60.

Along the way, he says, he was enticed by his colleagues to start training other stylists, which gave rise to the two training institutes through partnerships with Cantu, KCB Foundation and Strait Bridals.
