Gerald narrated that two days before his death, his son told him he had given up on life.

He told me, ‘Dad and Mom, I have had enough with life, I am done with the world,’” Mayanja said.

Days earlier, the doctors declined to perform another surgery on him due to his weakness and blood loss and instead advised the family to take him home to spend his last days with them.

Prossy Mayanja, Humphrey’s mother said she too had reached a point where she couldn't stand seeing her son in such pain, and that she prayed to God to take his life.
