Khan’s concert was supposed to take place on the 19th of May 2024, at Lule’s Climax Bar in Makindye.

Her announcement back in February this year was warmly welcomed by fans. Cindy Sanyu even offered her a band to help her with rehearsals according to media reports.

Khan, however, abruptly cancelled the show last week, citing among others mental health challenges.

In her apology last night, she admitted noting being well mentally.

“I was not mentally stable. I was not mentally OK because all of you have seen it but I promise you once I get on my feet I want to give you a concert that you will live to remember,” she posted.

Persisting mental health challenges

Khan has struggled with mental health for a long time, which has threatened to jeopardize her career.

Last year, singer Mesach Semakula blamed Khan’s struggled on her perceived underachievement.

He said Khan has over the years considered herself an underachiever compared to other young artists, and that this seems recently to have gotten to her head.

“My daughter Grace Khan, she is being disturbed by depression. She sees that she can sing. Grace Khan is actually a great singer… but then she sees other people she’s better than, who are taking off and far ahead of her and she starts questioning her life and wondering where she went wrong,” Semakula
