Bebe Cool finally dropped his long-awaited new album, “Break the Chains,” which he previously termed as his second last before leaving the music scene.
The Afrobeats album was dropped Thursday night at a glamorous listening party at Noni Vie lounge.
The event was graced by scores of top players in the Ugandan music industry and hosted by Nigerian-UK media personality Adesope Olajide
Break the Chains is a 16-track album with three collaborations: Cheque feat Joshua Baraka, Games feat Dj Edu, and the fans' favourite, African Love feat Yemi Alade.
At the launch, Bebe Cool spoke of the collabo with the Nigerian songstress, known famously as Mama Africa, revealing that he had long dreamt of teaming up with her.

“Yemi is a voice to reckon with. She is a very strong artist. If you are looking for strong female artists in the world, you couldn’t skip her,” he said.
“I am her fan; I have followed her for so long, and I just imagined her voice on my track.”
Bebe Cool says he was pleased when he landed the opportunity to get Yemi on the album through her manager, years back.
The manager, Taiye Aliyu was present at the album launch.

Album praised
Ugandan artists at the party praised the new album as a breath of fresh air in the Ugandan music industry.
A Pass said the album was comparable to Bebe Cool’s old urban sound which often made him stand out.
“I am not surprised because I have been doing music like this. If you listen to his songs like “I don't wanna be lonely" this is the kind of music,” he said.
“I am happy that he is bringing the urban sound back. It is quality music, and it is different; it's well mixed and mastered. I am inspired by what he’s trying to do.”
Alien Skin on the other hand, commended Bebe Cool as a trailblazer for showing the younger artists the way.
“Bebe Cool is an inspiration to me. We, the younger artist,s have been learning nothing but negativity from our elders. We have been emulating their violence, but this is something good to emulate," he said.
