Nigerian media Star Adesope Olajide to attend Bebe Cool’s album launch

Celebrated Nigerian-UK media personality Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo or Energy Gawd, is heading to Uganda for the much-anticipated release of music star Bebe Cool’s album, Break The Chains. 

The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 29th, at Noni Vie, promising an exciting night for fans and industry insiders alike.

A Cultural Bridge Between Nigeria and Uganda

Adesope is renowned for his work as a radio and television personality, talk show host, and podcaster, notably through The Afrobeats Podcast, a platform dedicated to Afrobeats and Afro pop culture.

His presence at the album launch is expected to elevate the event, bringing fresh exposure to Bebe Cool’s music and shining a spotlight on Uganda’s vibrant music industry.

The collaboration signals promising cultural exchanges between the Nigerian and Ugandan music scenes. 

Adesope has previously worked with African heavyweights such as Burna Boy, WizKid, Sarkodie, Lil Kesh, and Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka, strengthening his reputation as a key figure in promoting African music globally.

Championing Afrobeats and African Culture Worldwide

Adesope’s media career began in 2003, and since then, he has played a pivotal role in the rise of Afrobeats as a global cultural force. 

His commitment has earned him recognition as one of Africa’s 100 most impactful individuals by Ranks Africa. Known as a driving force behind many Afrobeats artists’ early success, Adesope has consistently believed in their potential before the wider industry took notice.

Since launching The Afrobeats Podcast in September 2020, he has hosted numerous African stars including Stonebwoy, CKay, Rema, Fuse ODG, Don Jazzy, Diamond Platnumz, Yemi Alade, and notably, Bebe Cool himself. African superstar Wizkid honoured him with the nickname “Afrobeats CNN” for his tireless efforts in promoting the genre worldwide.

Adesope’s attendance at the Break The Chains album release is set to further strengthen ties between African music communities and celebrate the ongoing global rise of African sounds.
