The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, through its flagship GROW Project has left a lasting mark on Uganda entrepreneurs

The project provides more than just financial support to women entrepreneurs—it offers a range of products and services designed to build capacity and foster a supportive ecosystem.

Through district-level Women Entrepreneurship Platforms (WEPs), women gain access to mentorship, networking, and information sharing.

These platforms also facilitate dialogue involving women entrepreneurs, their male counterparts, and community leaders to address social and cultural beliefs that often hinder women’s economic empowerment.

Comprehensive Skills Training for Growth

One of the project’s key offerings is a free, ten-module skills-based training programme targeting women entrepreneurs and a gender-diverse group of their employees.

This training covers essential topics such as entrepreneurial mindset, personal development, digital marketing, product research, business management, and financial literacy. It also tackles stereotypes and social barriers that can restrict women’s productivity and growth.

Specialised Sector-Specific Courses

For women looking to expand their expertise, the GROW Project provides specialised training in trade-specific and sector skills.

These include climate-smart agribusiness, e-commerce, hotel management, and tourism. By tailoring courses to particular industries, the project equips women entrepreneurs with the practical knowledge needed to scale their businesses sustainably and competitively.

Together, these products and services position the GROW Project as a comprehensive empowerment initiative that nurtures women’s entrepreneurial potential from multiple angles—building skills, creating networks, and fostering an environment where women can thrive.
