Data gathered by the Consortium also indicated that Malaria incidence rates significantly increased in 2021 to 2022, and were above 154 cases per 1,000 people in all districts except Amudat. In Moroto, the incidence rate increased to 527.5 cases per 1,000 people up from just 167 cases.

According to the organisation’s website, they were able to create village health teams to help monitoring of malaria cases and train medical personnel in rural areas about how to handle patients infected by the disease among others.

Malaria Consortium is one of the many non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Uganda and across the world that has benefitted from the Global Fund, a Fund founded by France, European Union and G7 countries to fight HIV/AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The French Government is the second largest contributor to the Fund, whose goal is to achieve sustainable development goal (SDG) 3 which aims at ensuring healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages in the world.
