Katende has been was working at Monitor Publications as a senior accountant was reported missing for a week before his decomposing body was discovered.

He was staying at his ancestral home in Masulita for two years after he chased away from the family home by wife and children.

On the fateful day, he received a call from his children who requested to see him after a long time.

He was "allegedly clobbered with a wielding stick" which killed him instantly -- in a move the police statement says was aimed at "owning all his property".

"The hunger for more riches forced the family members to later hack a plan on how to end his life so that they could own all his properties," part of the statement read.

The trio carried his body in a car and dumped it in a pit latrine in Rutete Village.

The wife, Janet Namugenyi Katende, and children, Lilian Najuma and Gideon Kaya are in police custody after confessing to killing the former Monitor Publication employee.
