Margret Namukose lied to her husband so that she can enjoy a weekend with another man at a hotel in the city, according to a police statement.

Namukose reportedly called her husband informing him of a scheduled school meeting in Kasangati town, Wakiso District -- but she never returned back home.

A kidnapping case was opened at Kyebando police post by the worried husband and police started tracing the wife's phone.

Namukose reported to the police station and confessed that she was "enjoying herself in Serena Hotel with her new boyfriend".

She is currently detained at Kira Road Police Station and will be arraigned before courts of law on charges of giving false information.

In May, police reported 40 cases of kidnap and 20 of them were fake and self kidnaps.
