So last month, Prophet Elvis Mbonye signed off a contract with National Council of Sports (NCS) which would allow him to use the cricket oval at Lugogo for the next 24 months, starting from May 15th.
Unfortunately, the contract is now void after Inspector General of Government (IGG)'s latest directive to NCS.
IGG Irene Mulyagonja on Thursday issued a directive suspending Prophet Mbonye Ministries from hosting its fellowship from the cricket ground.
The directive also suspends the contract between NCS and Prophet Mbonye Ministries over pending investigations under which the contract with was entered.
The move is intended to allow "a possibility of abuse of public assets and finances" and "systematic review of the processes and procedures of National Council of Sports on various other matters".
Mulyangoja also states that, whereas the fellowship organisers can find another place of worship, "cricketers cannot play the game in any place of worship or other place because there is none suited to practicing for and even playing their game".
