Ugandas President Kaguta Museveni is today expected to meet with Members of Parliament over security matters in the country.
The critical meeting comes a week after the head of state addressed Parliament over the same; listing 10 security measures he believes will reduce crime rates in the country.
The MPs requested to have a one on one conversation with the president over some of the issues and measures he raised, including the ambitious use of drones for security surveillance.
Some MPs, especially those from the opposition, are skeptical about the meeting and have raised concern that they haven't received any communication.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a section of MPs stormed Kiruddu Hospital demanding the temporary release of opposition MP Betty Nambooze to be able to travel to India for specialised treatment.
She was arrested to help in investigations into the assassination of MP Ibrahim Abiriga’s earlier this month.
Nambooze faces charges of inciting violence and offensive communication.
