Bobi Wines lawyer has called for an immediate suspension of military funding to Uganda by the US government.
Robert Amsterdam spoke during a press briefing in Washington DC where the 36-year-old musician-turned-lawmaker gave an update about his condition after torture allegations.
Amsterdam wants the US government to stop militarizing Uganda because its "long-standing history of political violence and this can no longer continue".
"The military we are supplying to Uganda is being used as a way of terror against Ugandans," Amsterdam said.
He maintained that they are determined to investigate the deaths, car accidents and suspicious positioning of people who speak against the Ugandan government.
The lawyer told reporters in Washington DC that they will meet the American Congress to inform them about the brutality going on in the East African country, a tiny nation they are heavily funding with military equipment.
"We want the American taxpayer to know what they are paying for," he said.
