Waititu’s close ally, Sports CEC Karungo wa Thangwa impeached

Members of the Kiambu County Assembly have impeached Sports CEC Karungo Wa Thangwa, a close ally and confidant of besieged area Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

The MCAs accused the Sports and Youth CEC of mismanaging Sh100 million allocated to his ministry.

Thang'wa appears to have fallen victim to the new drive by the acting Kiambu Governor James Nyoro who is keen to clean the county of Waititu's influence.

Thang'wa is among two CECs who came out in support of Finance CEC Francis Kigo whose vehicle was withdrawn.

Thangw'a and Public Works CEC Juliet Kimemia had offered to share their vehicles with Kigo. The trio is also perceived to be very loyal to Waititu who has been barred from exercising his powers as Governor until a corruption case against him is concluded.
