Vocal Pastor blasts BBI over association with politicians facing criminal charges

Bishop Godfrey Migwi has blasted the BBI over its association with leaders facing charges in court.

In his speech, the pastor gave examples of various leaders who are facing corruption charges that have been closely supporting the BBI.

He opined that this was a bad look for the country and dangerous precedence the BBI was setting.

Borrowing from the NTV feature titled Bridges to a Clean Slate which aired on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Migwi claimed that the BBI had become the safety net for leaders facing various charges.

Migwi named Cabinet Secretaries who were appointed to critical dockets yet they have been probed over graft allegations.

"EACC petitioned Speaker Justin Muturi over the nomination of Peter Munya and Ukur Yattani as Cabinet Secretaries alleging that their integrity was questionable," Migwi stated.

"Investigation by EACC on alleged procurement malpractice have hit a snag since he became a "darling" to the system for openly abusing and attacking the DP and defending BBI," he added.

According to the pastor, ignoring the integrity of leaders was costing the country and promoting bad behaviour to the young generation.

The NTV feature alluded that ODM leader Raila Odinga was being used as the cleaning agent politicians run to when they need their political image salvaged.

The feature illustrated how the mechanism of mwosho mmoja worked, highlighting Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Migori Governor Okoth Obado as some of those who had benefited from this.
