Taking the helm as the first team captain is the new signing, Enock Walusimbi. The defender is no stranger to leadership.

He was captain as Express incredibly soared to their seventh league title, and first in a decade in 2021.

The Red Eagles followed up their league triumph with their first ever victory in the CECAFA Club Championship, sealing an unprecedented double for the club.

Before being named official captain, Walusimbi had already led the Tax Collectors twice this season, against Soltilo Bright Stars FC and Gaddafi FC.

Defender Hudu Mulikyi looked like the favourite to replace Nafian, captaining the side in some of the FUFA Super 8 tournament, but was not considered for the long run.

This transition also sees the versatile defender officially taking over duties from Nafian Alionzi, who recently made a move to an Ethiopian club.

Supporting Walusimbi as the first assistant is another new entrant and former Express teammate Dennis Otim.

Known for his skills between the posts, the reliable goalkeeper is expected to bring a solid presence in his new role.

Long-standing midfielder Saidi Kyeyune, a stalwart at URA FC and the most tenured player in the current squad, has been designated as the third captain.
