We are slightly a happy country according to the Word Happiness report.
Uganda ranks number 135 out of 156 countries in the World Happiness report released by United Nations.
Its current position places it in the last 25 countries on world happiest list.
The report rankings were based on income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity.
Last year, Uganda Bureau of Statistics’ National Household Survey (UNHS) 2016/17 report revealed that number of poor people increased from 6.6 million in 2012/13 to 10 million in 2016/17.
Uganda declined in ranking; last year, it was ranked number 133, a position which is currently occupied by India.
The Pearl of Africa ranks above its neighbors Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and Tanzania with exception of Kenya which ranks at number 124.
The World Happiness index is topped by Finland.
