Dancehall musician Peter Miles is on music sabbatical for all the good reasons.
He is heavily focusing on his water business of hiring yachts for luxury parties, transport among other things. He recently acquired a new state of the art yacht for his business.
The singer has however opened up his arms wide following a partnership with United Nations for a series of activities aimed at making the lives of people better.
Peter Miles’ company ‘Miles Marines’ partnered with United Nations body, International Organisation for Migration, to safely evacuate hundreds of Congolese refugees to safely cross Lake Albert to the refugee camps.
“MILES MARINES in Partnership with UNITED NATIONS body I.O.M (International Organisation for Migration) is proud to be part of the evacuation of Congolese refugees safely to the refugee camp,” he said.
Miles Marines will provide safe transport for refugees across Lake Albert amid an increasing number of deaths caused by overloading wooden canoe boats.
“Many times, these refugees have lost their lives drowning in Lake Albert due to overloading of wooden canoe boats trying to escape the insurgency in Congo. MILES MARINES is dedicated to provide them with safe transportation across Lake Albert,” Peter Miles said
The growing insurgence in Democratic Republic of Congo has seen over 27,000 refugees cross over to Uganda since the year started.
