Ugandan musician and songwriter Chris Evans has spoken out for the first time after a near death experience last night when robbers attacked him.
The singer was attacked by robbers on his way home in Lungujja and hit on the head with a hammer before jacking his car.
Speaking to Bukedde TV, Mr. Evans says the robbers followed him on a motorcycle but was late to notice their intentions.
He realized he was the target when he tried to enter into a home where the robbers found him, smashing the window and dragging him out of the car.
"I would have run away but honestly, there are some things I wanted to buy," Evans says.
He has been discharged from the hospital and his condition has stablised.
Police have also recovered the singer's car from Mutundwe, about 3.7km from Lungujja where he was attacked from.
