Nambooze was arrested on June 13th from her home in Mukono and charged with offensive communication and inciting violence over her statements following the shooting of ruling party MP Ibrahim Abiriga.

The legislator was granted police bond and ordered to report back to the Commissioner of Homicide Department at Kibuli on 29th July.

Her temporary freedom comes a day after opposition MPs threatened to rally more people and protest for her release from Kiruddu Hospital where she was admitted after developing some health complication.

The MPs claimed that their colleague needs specialised treatment in India.

Mulago Hospital Executive Director Dr Byaruhanga Baterena said Nambooze was cleared to travel to the South Asian country for treatment.

She needs to undergo a surgical procedure after suffering spinal cord compression during last year's Parliament fracas that left several other MPs injured.
