Her medical travel comes a week after she was granted police bond. She was arrested from her home on charges of offensive communication and inciting violence in the wake of the assassination of ruling party MP Ibrahim Abiriga.

Parliament released about UGX108m to cater for the legislator's treatment, per diem and travel expenses in June and will be depositing more funds, according to Director of Communication and Public Affairs at Parliament.

However, the legislator said Parliament only released about UGX29m for her treatment and hopes that it will reconsider and "release more money for me".

Last year, Nambooze was injured during the Parliament brawl over the controversial amendment of article 102b that sought to abolish presidential age limit.

She sustained injuries in the back worsening her movement which prompted for the first surgery in India.
