In a shocking and surprise move, Pornography Control Committee is planning to include ‘pornography in the school curriculum.
The move was revealed by the chairperson of Pornography Control Committee Dr. Annette Kezaabu while addressing press conference in Mbarara District.
Dr. Annette Kezaabu believes that introducing pornography will help children in primary and secondary schools get sufficient knowledge about pornography and its effects.
She also reiterated that the committee is currently sensitizing the public about the anti-pornography law.
Directorate of Ethics and integrity is reportedly in talks with the Ministry of Education and Sports to see how this plan works out.
The 9-member Pornography Control Committee was constituted by government last year to detect and curb the circulation of pornographic material.
It operates on a budget of UGX2billion every year.
In 2016, Minister of Ethics & integrity Simon Lokodo announced that government had bought a UGX320million pornography-detection machine from a company in South Korea to facilitate the committee's operations.
The machine would be capable of detecting, controlling, and scrutinizing porn on mobile handsets and other electronic devices.
