Rachel Ruto praises Akothee after hanging out with her on Friday [Photos]

Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto took to social media, heaping praises on musician Akothee (Esther Akoth) after hanging out with the diva on Friday.

Rachel was impressed with Akothee’s resilience and her charity work in Turkana.

“It was really nice spending time with Esther Akoth (Akothee) today! What a beautiful story of determination and drive.

“We thank God for the work Akothee foundation is doing especially in Turkana! Esther has great tenacity and a beautiful spirit! We wish you all the best!” Wrote Rachel.

The award-winning musician has been making headlines for the right reasons with her foundation coming to the rescue of thousands facing hunger in Turkana.

Moved by the suffering of people ravaged by drought in Turkana County, Akothee spearheaded a fundraising campaign for the drought-stricken people in Turkana, marshalling resources that resulted in trucks of much-needed food and water landing in Lodwar.

In just 2 hours, she managed to raise more than Sh 1 million with the initiative providing a lifeline to thousands facing death from starvation.

After the drive, Akothee promised to look for a sustainable solution and launched Akothee Foundation in Turkana help cater for the needy and hunger stricken communities in the county and its environs.
