Ministry of Land has cancelled land titles belonging to Pastor Samuel Kakande, a popular pastor and head of Synagogue Church of All Nations in Kampala.
The cancelled land titles are of a 26 square miles of land he illegally acquired in Mubende, a district in the Central Region of Uganda.
The 'Man of God' was planning to use the huge piece of land as an expansion for his rice scheme project evicting over ten thousand people.
He runs rice schemes in Kibaale, Masaka and Masindi Districts.
Mubende District Land Board secretary revealed that the process of acquiring the contested land was irregular and "complainants may thus go ahead and apply to the land board for their land".
Over 10,000 tenants, who had legal rights to the land, protested their planned eviction accusing the district land board of conniving with the pastor.
This is not the first time Pastor Kakande's land titles have been cancelled.
In 2017, Land Commission of Inquiry led by Justice Bamugemereire ordered him off a 40 square miles land along Lake Victoria shores which he had encroached for farming.
He was forced to surrender all land documents and withdraw his farming equipment.
