Police have spoken out on the allegations that Nalufenya, Uganda’s ‘torture facility’ is to be closed over violation of human rights and torture.

State owned-newspaper on Friday reported that the Jinja based detention facility was to be closed after IGP Okoth Ochola’s directive during Police Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting.
In a statement seen by Pulse Live Uganda, police deputy spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango says the torturous detention facility hasn't been closed as earlier reported.
SSP Onyango however acknowledges that the issue Nalufenya detention facility was discussed during the Police Advisory Committee (PAC) but no decision was made on whether to shut it down or not.
