A police officer in Kokorio Landing site in Katakwi District on Tuesday night killed three people before committing suicide.
Police Constable Alfred Otto Omaralost his temper when he was summoned by area OC Lillian Nanduttu to resolve some relationship issues with his girlfriend.
Deputy Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says Omara opened fire at the area OC, his girlfriend and another police officer before fleeing the scene.
“Omara was summoned by the OC Lillian Nanduttu to resolve their issues with the girlfriend Anyaiti who had reported him after a misunderstanding. In the middle of the meeting Omara lost his temper and shot the OC, his girlfriend and another police officer Julius Emiru,” Onyango said.
Omara’s body was found on Wednesday morning by the river side after committing suicide by drowning.
Divers and other police officials are trying to recover the gun according to Onyango.
